EXPLO3: Mapping an Artistic Nomadology
9TH EXHIBITION
Exhibition from July 24 to August 4 (in Paris during Olympic Games)
Presented by the Ateliers de Ménilmontant (AdM) at Galerie Ménil'8 (Paris).
From July 24 to August 4, Galerie Ménil'8 becomes the stopover stage for the EXPLO3 project, hosted by the Ateliers de Ménilmontant. Conceived as a total work of art (Gesamtkunstwerk), this initiative unfolds simultaneously as a traveling, participatory, immersive, and collective installation.
Taking root in the heart of Paris at the very moment the city vibrates to the rhythm of the Olympic Games, EXPLO3 stands as an alternative agora and space for conversation. At a time when global celebrations intersect with contemporary tensions—amid anxieties over gender-based violence, the resurgence of armed conflicts, and the rise of a global solastalgia—the exhibition invites deep reflection on the future of our world and the fragility of our shared habitat.
Conceived in 2020 in Casablanca, this transnational project began its journey in 2022 along the shores of Lake Iseo in Lombardy, before continuing its path in 2023 across the lands of Sarria in Galicia. Through this trajectory across European and Mediterranean cultural geographies, the project has evolved into a living network, bringing together to date more than 155 artists from 25 countries.
In the face of present-day fractures, EXPLO3 transforms the exhibition space into a laboratory for active listening and sensory resistance, reaffirming the fundamental role of artistic creation in healing territorial wounds and weaving new bonds of transborder solidarity.
